Barack Obama won the South Carolina Primary over the weekend by an astounding 28%. He received 55% of the vote to Hillary Clinton’s 28%. Many people believe the wide margin of victory (much better than polls from a few days before the election indicated) can be traced back to the hardball tactics, a lot of people say race baiting, by the Clintons and the strongly negative tone Bill Clinton pushed over the previous two weeks.
In fact, Bill’s stretching of the truth is part of the reason Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), along with niece Caroline and son Patrick, endorsed Obama today in a rousing speech in Washington, comparing him to his deceased brothers John and Bobby.
