A funny line, no doubt, from the always entertaining and sometimes outrageous Jesse Ventura, but the line takes on a certain seriousness considering the source. In this case, the former WWF star has more credibility on the subject than Dick Cheney himself.
Ventura explains that as a Navy SEAL he was waterboarded as part of their intensive training. Every SEAL undergoes waterboarding so they know what to expect in case they are ever tortured by the enemy. But watch the whole interview, besides some good laughs (”I live off the grid in Mexico with no electricity,” “Dick Cheney got five deferments for the Vietnam War. He is a coward,” and his pitch to Obama to be Cuban Ambassador), his description of waterboarding and arguments against torture from a military perspective are genuinely informative and surprisingly coherent.
